Online teaching practice begins....

We all are passing through a difficult time. The world is now experiencing a worst time due to the vast spread of Covid- 19. There are many changes happened to our life situations. Almost all activities are being done through online world. Now one of the major changes is being happening in educational field. Student and teachers are building their relationship through online class rooms. As a B.Ed. trainee, teaching practice in semester 3 and 4 is really important for me. But in this pandemic condition we are forced to take classes through online platforms. As per our syllabus we are now asked to take 10 face to face class that is with school students and 10 peer teaching classes. It is really a new experience for all of us. We are 13 in our English batch and we are planning to take two peer classes in a day.

9/11/2020 Monday   

Today we have a session with our dearest principal Bibby ma’am. She gave us a set of Multiple Choice Questions based on the topic allotted each day. The class was held through Google Meet at 8.30 a.m. Then we had a really fruitful time with our Sangeetha Ma’am. Every day we have option subject classes and we were asked to take peer classes on that time. Our time was 12.00 p.m. to 1 p.m. Today it was the class of Anjali our classmate. She taught a lesson titled Fire and Ice written by Robert Frost. She also used the help ICT. She prepared an interesting presentation. The class was little distractive because of network issues.

Today as usual we have the general classes as well as option periods. In the option hour we had peer teaching session of our class mate Amala. Her class was interesting and she used presentation to make the class interesting. Network issues also showed their talent. Aiswarya also took the class very effectively. It is really a chance to learn some useful hacks from others.

 Our day started with General classes followed by option classes. The peer teaching is moving smoothly. Today Sangeetha ma’am also was in the meet to observe our classes. Sreeja took the class very effectively. She used YouTube videos to make the class attractive. After the class Sangeetha gave some suggestions in order to make it more fruitful.

Today we had a worth session with Bibby ma’am. She gave some relevant ideas regarding the subject as well as teaching techniques. Her class in morning is always makes us energetic all the day. Today we don’t had class of Sangeetha ma’am. She spends that time for evaluation peer classes. Today our peer teching session were handled by Rosemary and Sebin. Rosemary took a beautiful story named the biy who Drew cats. She also talked about folk tales.

13/11/2020 Friday

Today our classes began at 8.30 a.m. by our Bibby ma’am. Today miss discussed the things regarding teaching practice and the way of handling the students effectively. After that Sangeetha ma’am took classes from 10 a.m. onwards. She discussed about our way taking classes and she made some teaching on the techniques that is usefull in online teaching. The option hour was the peer teaching. Parvathy and Reshma from our class completed their second round of peer teaching. Both of them had a well prepared presentation.
